What is it like?
Studios are made up of individual suites or rooms in a larger establishment. Most are run by the providers themselves, some have receptionists and some may even have private security. It is best to check the website prior to arriving to view who is on shift. Calling to pre-book an appointment is not mandatory but it ensures that the provider you are interested in is available for you. Once you arrive someone will greet you at the door and help guide you through the process of that particular establishment. If you have an appointment let the greeter know; if not you may ask to quickly meet with all providers on shift before making your selection. Many studios deal strictly with cash for anonymity purposes, some provide ATM inside the studio. All providers work as independent contractors and all have different fees. Is it safe?
Massage parlors are 100-percent legal, the sale of sex is legal however the purchase of sex has not yet been legalized in Alberta. The City of Edmonton is however only interested in the safety of the providers not in pursuing the purchasers.
